| After you sign up, any time that you use your Meijer Credit Card at Meijer, the troop gets paid 1% of your total purchases (this doesn't cost you anything extra — it comes directly from Meijer). | |
| After you sign up, any time that you pay with cash or a PIN-based debit card at Meijer, and scan your Meijer 1 Card, the troop gets paid 0.5% of your purchases (this doesn't cost you anything extra — it comes directly from Meijer). | |
| In order to get started, you first need to sign up on line for either a Meijer Credit Card or a Meijer 1 Card. Here's detailed information on how to do so. You will need to know that our organization's six-digit code is 393295. | |
| Note that you can increase the benefits to the troop by encouraging friends, relatives, and neighbors to sign up as well. The process for them is exactly the same as the process for everybody else. If they specify our troop as the receiving charity, we will get the benefit of their efforts. | |
| That's it! | |
| Note that if you were participating in the Meijer Community Rewards Program before 5/31/2007, your previous Meijer Community Rewards card no longer works and the troop is no longer receiving any benefit from your purchases. In order for the troop to continue receiving any benefit, you need to sign up again, as described above. |
This is an ongoing fund raiser. Like the Meijer Community Rewards program described above, this program doesn't cost you ANYTHING in additional time, money, or effort. This money comes directly from Amazon.com. The more you shop at Amazon.com, the more they donate to us. Once again, the best and most important part of this is that Amazon.com doesn't charge you anything more than if you didn't participate.
Here's how it works:

You follow this

| You shop as you normally would. When/if you buy something, Troop 147 automatically gets 6% (yes, that's SIX PERCENT) of what you spend. | |
| Note that you can't just use this link once in order for us to get credit for subsequent orders. Each time you go shopping at the Amazon.com web site, you need to get there via the above link in order for Troop 147 to get credit for your purchase. | |
| That's it! |
Trails-End Popcorn SaleMost BSA councils have embraced an annual Trails-End Popcorn sale.
Troop 147 participates in our council's annual fall popcorn sale. This is the troop's principle fundraiser of the year, so we ask our boys to really make an effort once a year to do what they reasonably can. This year, our goal is to have an average of at least $225 sold per scout.
Our annual popcorn sale is coordinated by the troop Popcorn Kernel.
We are always willing to accept donations of old (gently used) uniforms, cooking/camping gear, and/or money. We "belong to" our chartering institution, First Presbyterian Church. So, from a tax perspective, any donations to Troop 147 should technically be considered donations to First Presbyterian Church.
(This should not be considered to be authoritative tax advice. If you desire tax advice, please consult with a competent tax expert).
