Our History

Troop 147 has been chartered by Holland's First Presbyterian Church since 1960.  Since its founding, the troop has produced 86 Eagle Scouts.  We are "The Eagle Makers."

While the troop is sponsored by First Presbyterian Church, and benefits from its sponsorship in many ways, it is not necessary for you to be a member of the church to join the troop.  In fact, most troop members are not members of the church.

Approaching its 50th anniversary, Troop 147 is strong, healthy, and growing increasingly more so.  We have over 50 boys in the troop.

We have a great group of boys.  There is a wide range of ages represented, from 10 to 17.  Our boy leaders are given significant responsibilities in the running of the troop.
